This is a full time position working under the direction of the Plant Environmental Engineer. This position will require a person who, in a dynamic working environment, can manage day to day facility compliance and complex projects in a timely manner. The Environmental Engineer II will be involved in reclamation projects, water quality compliance, air permit compliance and all other daily compliance activities associated with three (3) mine sites and one (1) industrial processing site. The Environmental Engineer II will spend approximately 30% of time supervising and or directing the Plant Dust Collector, Plant Oiler, CEMS technicians, and water quality personnel.

This position requires that the person have excellent communication skills. Requires the ability to interact with plant personnel, the public and various federal, state, county and local regulatory agencies, on air, land, water and waste issues.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Conduct plant audits to insure environmental compliance
Maintain environmental management system
Maintain compliance for waste discharge requirements
Manage waste manifests as required by law
Acquire and maintain certification in visible emissions monitoring
Complete all monthly emissions and discharge reports
Effectively communicate with local, county, state and federal regulatory agencies
Interface with maintenance, production and plant management on all environmental issues
Insure proper in-plant reporting for all federal air requirements
Maintain Hazardous Materials Business Plan
Participate in environmental information exchange with other plant locations
Attend seminars and educational programs as deemed necessary
Supervise or direct tasks associated with plant compliance (such as dust collectors, waste oil, CEMS, and water quality)
In absence of Environmental Engineer, assumes full responsibility for plant environmental matters
Any other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned by plant management

Requirements:
Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science Degree
Course work in: Calculus, Biochemistry, Geology, Botany, Hydrology and Economics.
Mining course work desirable.
Computer skills: Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
AutoCAD and ArcGIS skills preferred.
Excellent communication skills
