I went to High school in California where I was educated by the finest high school drop outs that ever got a 2 yr degree from Jr./community college.
I couldn't afford to go to college.
McCain graduated High school at the bottom of his class, No matter Granddad and Dad got him an appointment to the naval academy. I guess not even they had enough pull to get him into an Ivy league school. I had to go to work for a living. He is not an elitist.
My 1st car was a 12 yr old 64 Comet what a cream puff. I saved $300.00 for this little beauty. Well, what the heck I was making $100.00 a week after taxes.
It only took me three or four months to save it up. My Dad could have bought it for me or let me drive his 67 Camaro. My Dad thought it more important to teach me a lesson in economics. Something John McCain admits he does not know much about. That is someone I want running the country in this economy
I read where John McCain pulled up to the Naval academy in a brand new corvette. What a sight that must have been. He is not an elitist.

2. The aide times at both North Cottonwood and East Cottonwood have all been reduced, some by half!
"K" has been reduced from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours and First grade has been reduced from 2 hours to 1.5 hours. There have been reductions at North Cottonwood as well. Last year North Cottonwood had a room for kids to go and finish homework etc. with help and support from an aide. This year that aide has to do playground duty and the kids really miss this "study hall."
3. The library's at both North Cottonwood and East Cottonwood are no longer open 5 days a week!
North Cottonwood is closed on Wednesday's and East Cottonwood is closed on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday afternoons.
4. There is also 1 less janitor this year so the classrooms are being cleaned every other day now instead of everyday!
This is very disturbing to me, with colds, flu and staph infections being widespread in elementary schools. Especially Staph in our district!!!
5. There are now 2 less aides in the Reading Room at East Cottonwood school, so the reading room will no be offered to "K" students this year. It was brought up that this program helped several children who started the year at a high risk for retention actually be successful and be able to go on to first grade. This is a tremendous loss for these children! The sooner they get the help they need the more successful they will be.
6. It was also brought up that the SDC class lost one of its aides. Because of this several children have been mainstreamed and may not be getting all of the help that they need to be successful.
7. North Cottonwood has gotten the funding and approval for a 30 computer, computer lab. The location is already wired and ready to go, and the district is waiting on the cabinets to be installed and the rest of the computers to arrive. Mr. Baldwin the computer tech says that this process will take probably till about the end of October. How long does it take to hook up 30 very basic computers and install some cabinets around the room?
(2 months?) How about in a weekend!!!

McCain campaign OPENLY ADMITS that he wasn't in any "cone of silence" at the forum, but does not say whether the candidate was passed on any info, on his way to the event. (Oh, and by the way, if you dare ask, the campaign will say you're questioning a former POW, which is relevant... how?)
John McCain lied to and embarrassed a pastor on national television. Pastor Warren made clear in his opening, and reiterated to CNN's Rick Sanchez, that he was under the belief that Senator McCain had abided by the agreed upon rules, and was in his so-called "cone of silence" when the show started. McCain let Warren believe that, until afterwords. That Warren is trying to salvage the legitimacy of the forum by giving McCain a pass is irrelevant.
The fact still is that Senator McCain and his campaign lied to a pastor, by agreeing to rules and breaking them, and not telling him until after the fact.
Sorry, but that's news and deserves at least a mention, so those who viewed the event know all the facts surrounding it.

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated i ts Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses
provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Since I identify with the people who fall into Barrack Obama's elitist description about people of faith who keep firearms I'm not very happy with Barrack Obama's recent remarks.
He said something to the effect that us rednecks cling to our guns and our religion when we get frustrated and I would like to take umbrage to these remarks. My faith goes much deeper than his superficial explanation and I love my guns even when I'm not frustrated.
And I am not by myself. I was going to church and shooting guns before Mr. Obama was even born and come from a long line of good people who have been doing it for generations.
To me this latest Obama blunder only helps reveal the depth of condescension the far left wing of the Democrat party has for the folks out here in flyover country.
Mr. Obama's remarks are insulting to a lot of folks. It's kind of like Abraham Lincoln said, "God must love the common people because He made so many of them".
His remarks make me think that Obama doesn't know the people of this country very well. I'm sure he knows the jet set and the Hollywood bunch, the limousine liberals and the save the whales, kill the babies crowd, but does he think that the ordinary people don't count? Does he think that they're so stupid that they don't know who he's talking about when
He says these things? Does he think their opinions aren't important?
Apparently. How can a man stand in front of America and tell people what he wants to do for them and have so little respect for a whole segment of the population? In fact, a very large segment. Does that mean that he would only represent the high-minded liberal ideals of the far left and ignore the rest of us?
What kind of Commander and Chief would he make if he doesn't respect the very people who make up the lion's share of the armed forces?
You may say I'm over reacting, but I'm getting sick and tired of him making these elitist statements and saying that he had been taken out of context or some other flimsy excuse.
After his wife's remark about not being proud of this country and his pastor's statements calling America the U.S.K.K.K.A. And his own statement about not wanting his daughter punished with a baby, it makes me wonder what kind of a man Obama really is and what kind of a president He'd make.
Would he be an antigun advocate pushing the effort to take the firearms out of innocent citizen's hands? Would he not respect the religious beliefs of America , not taking them into account in his agenda?
I really don't know much about the man and neither does America . He basically came from out of nowhere and as the facts come out little by by little, they don't make a particularly confident picture.
I have a great fear that if our military gets broken by another President, this time we're not going to have time to fix it again and what that spells for America , I don't even want to contemplate.
Oh well, I guess I'll grab my gun and go to church.

What American running for President of the United States would remove the symbol of his country? And worse, he replaced the flag with it with a symbol of himself...
If Obama is elected president of the United States we are in trouble. If you think the Liberals can lead our country just look what Pelosi and Reid have accomplished for us.
But American's wanted 'CHANGE'! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right. In the PAST YEAR:
1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;
2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~11,100 -- $2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!
