I have this car project for about 5 years. It received a crate e-rod ls3 and 4l65E swap with custom drive shaft, exhaust, Posi 3.54 diff swap, bilstein shocks & struts, simple performance springs front & back, 18’ Wheels & Conti Performance Tires. Interior all original 58k miles car except the wood Nardi steering wheel, original cluster gauges works as it should with the current set up, including modification of adding CEL light. Exterior needs paint job or keep sleeper look. I put about 5k miles on it in the last two years since I finished the project. Have a large binder full of receipts and paperwork around $40-50k invested. Dyno at Tune it Up 350s hp/tq to the wheel.
There’s a slight thumbing/knocking sound when under load, I’m pretty certain it’s early stage and sign of a spun bearing. I heard it and parked it. No codes. I have an oil sample test from Blackstone.
Put on non-op last month as registration was expiring. I’m just looking to moved on with the car. You can pull motor to do the repair or repair and swap into another car. All e-rod California’s compliant smog parts are there. Although I never finished with Referee check, they wanted me to swap out the adjustable fuel regulator and change out the raised O2 sensors on the exhaust.
