At 85, he is extremely physically fit and still quite happy go lucky though his mental faculties are declining. Our goal is to keep him at his home at long as possible, since we are out of state. Our father is still enjoys multiple daily walks and is somewhat active around the property with goats and yard work .
The 5 acre property is rural but still very close to shopping and services. There is a creek in the yard and a private lake nearby. Your main caregiving responsibilities are from 6:30am to noon daily (breakfast and lunch) with flexibility to take time off as needed and a weekly cash stipend. You will have your own room and bath, use of a vehicle and meals will be provided.
We have rotating part time caregivers coming in 7 days a week between noon to 6pm. Another elderly family member who helps when needed also lives in his own unit on the property. Since we have 2 extra rooms we are considering having 2 Live-in caregivers, that way they can have more time off and more ability to work around school or work schedules..
We are located near Shasta College and Simpson College and if you are a student or have a regular job we may be able to work around it. This could also be a perfect situation for a remote worker, writer or other creative. The property is very quiet and peaceful.
There is a 3rd bedroom which could be considered in the deal for the right situation.
You must have your own supplemental income source in addition to what we provide.
Our goal is to find caring and competent individual/s to start living-in sometime during August or September. There will be a 15 day training/trial period to make sure its a good fit.
