The post hole digger is a brute and works well. There are no leaks in the gearbox. The downforce hydraulics ram has recently been resealed and the hydraulic hoses have recently been replaced.
**(Note: The hydraulic down force ram is designed to use one control port only. The other hose is used to return fluid to the hydraulic tank/sump. You cannot hook up both hoses to both control ports on your tractor).
Having said that, the post hole digger is very heavy and I have never had a problem using the auger without ever engaging the down force ram. If you have extremely hard ground, you may want to use the downforce option.
I have built a custom stand for the unit, as it makes it far easier to attach to your three point hitch as well as it keeps the unit sored nicely. With the stand I can take the post hole digger off and on by myself.
Additionally, included with the post hole digger are 12" and 18" auger bits. The bits alone would cost between $500 and $600 if purchased new.
This post hole digger is extremely heavy and I will assist in loading with my tractor and a sling.
