As far as I can read it, this drum date is Nov 28, 2000, pitched at C (maybe G? I don't know), with number #77161, all inked inside as shown. I do not know much about drums, but this snare seems good enough to at least be listed as hecka good, if not better! In fact, I have been messing around with this drum using the built-in muffler, and it's badass! Thus, raising the price a bit.
The Black Badge is 171449.
This does have an interesting factory-installed muffler device, as the picture shows, and it's very cool!
I guess another interesting fact is that this drum appears to be 4.24 inches wide, as the pictures show. I do know that the "normal" would be 4 inches, so that's why it's listed as a 4 X 14...
This oldie does have DW Hoops. The heads are okay.
Otherwise, this is missing the snare, but the DW Throwoff is all there, and it's all good. This snare does sound LOUD!
Here's something from AI about 4.25 with. I have NO IDEA if this is relevant or not. Can anyone enlighten me?
The 4.25" x 14" Snare: The extra quarter-inch of depth is a highly specialized DW Custom Shop modification. That minor increase in shell depth gives the air column just enough room to breathe, adding a noticeable amount of fatness and low-end depth to the tone without sacrificing the high-end crack.
