The DRS AN/PAS-13D(V)1 LWTS is a weapon mountable thermal sensor that can be used to acquire targets at long range, at night and during the day. The AN/PAS-13D(V)1 is ideal for center fire carbines and rifles (5.56, .223, 7.62, 300BLK, 308, etc). It is a passive system which means it does not emit any signals that can be detected. Unlike image-intensifier systems, a thermal sight is not susceptible to 'bloom' issues, i.e. being overwhelmed by sudden bright sources of light. The sights feature a data port that allows them to be connected to external equipment such as recording devices. Various reticles can be programmed into the units depending on mission needs. The sights run on disposable lithion or rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Features a 15 degree horizontal field-of-view lens designed for urban warfare and other wide-view, close-in focus situations. The AN/PAS-13 is used by regular and special operations units alike.

The "B" is the older unit with the simulated green display.
The "C" is made by BAE
The "D" is made by DRS/L3. The "D" is not newer than the "C" variant. It's just the PAS-13 designation for a different manufacturer.
The "E" is made by Raytheon.
The "G" is the new L3 clip-on LWTS, which is arguably not a "real" PAS-13.
