Harvest Dispatcher (Los Molinos)

compensation: $16-$18 D.O.E.
employment type: full-time

A local farming operation is seeking a Truck Dispatcher for our upcoming harvest season. The position is scheduled to start in September and end around November 1st. This is a temporary full-time position with scheduled overtime during peak.

Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Supervisor, the truck dispatcher is responsible for:
• Communicating with Harvest Supervisors to know their plans and needs
• Coordinating the movements of company trucks
• Instructing drivers on daily tasks and monitoring their progress throughout the shift
• Taking pick-up requests from outside locations
• Scheduling loads through third-party trucking companies
• Submitting work orders to maintenance for the necessary repairs, and coordinating the transport of the equipment to/from the repair shop so the work can be completed
• Promoting a safe work environment by upholding company safety procedures
• Processing and filing paperwork from drivers
• Other office tasks assigned

• Have effective problem-solving skills to improve operations, routes, and processes
• Be able to handle high-stress situations
• Have above average verbal and written communication skills
• Possess excellent time management and organizational skills
• Be able to juggle many different tasks in a day
• Be able to work with mapping programs to assist the drivers
• Possess good computer skills using Microsoft Office
• Possess an understanding of DOT laws and regulations
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and a background check

Priority will be given to candidates that:
• Are bilingual (English & Spanish)
• Have previous dispatch experience
